Queensland, Australia — April 18, 2026
BNB Blitz IX Powerlifting Competition wrapped with Clyde Butler taking the top performance of the day, totaling 750 kg to win the men’s 125 kg division and outpace the rest of the field.
Clyde Butler’s final deadlift at 281 kg drew the biggest reaction of the day. His 290 kg squat and 180 kg bench had already put him ahead, but he took it anyway to close out the total.
Tyler Hamilton was still lifting late into the final deadlift flight, loading 255 kg while most of the division had already finished. He finished with a 622.5 kg total in the men’s 82.5 kg division, built on his best lifts of 232.5 kg squat, 135 kg bench, and 255 kg deadlift.
Ryan Christianson held onto first in the men’s 90 kg division despite missing his last deadlift. He totaled 610 kg, with his day coming from a 230 kg squat, 140 kg bench, and 240 kg deadlift that gave him enough room to stay ahead.
Leila Warnes put together one of the cleanest performances of the meet in the women’s 75 kg division, going 9-for-9 and totaling 415 kg. She finished with a 150 kg squat, 90 kg bench, and 175 kg deadlift, one of the few lifters to go through the day without a miss.
BNB Blitz IX came down to a handful of standout totals and a slower, heavier final round of pulls. Clyde Butler’s 750 kg performance set the tone for the meet, with a small group of lifters separating themselves by the time deadlifts wrapped. The event, run by the BNB crew of Brisbane North Barbell, stayed tight and efficient early before turning into a more deliberate finish as attempts got heavier, closing out a meet defined by a few big performances at the top of each division.
