Multiple national records set at the Pirates of the Platform ’26 Powerlifting Meet. Alexander Scory took the overall win on the men’s side while Tia Braithwaite led the women’s division.
Alexander Scory was the headliner. After missing his opening squat on depth, he came back to hit 377.5 kg (832.2 lbs) then pushed it further with 387.5 kg (854.3 lbs) on his third. The third attempt drew the biggest reaction in the room. He sat it deeper and stood it up clean for a WRPF Canadian record in the Men’s Raw with Wraps Open 110 kg class.
Kevin Dixon followed with one of the cleanest squat series of the meet in the Masters division, going three for three and finishing at 290 kg (639.34 lbs) for another WRPF Canadian record in the Men’s Raw Masters Division,125 kg. His third attempt was the toughest of the three, causing a nosebleed mid-lift, but he got it up.
In the women’s division, Tia Braithwaite put together one of the strongest days overall. She opened with 182.5 kg (402.3 lbs) to secure a Canadian record in the squat, then added another WRPF Canada record on bench at 100 kg (220.46 lbs) in the Women’s Raw with Wraps, Masters class. Both lifts were decisive from start to finish.
Nathan Siemens closed out the junior division with back-to-back Canadian records for the Men’s Raw Tested Junior Class 17 – 19 years. He hit 227.5 kg (501.6 lbs) on his second squat, then moved to 237.5 kg (523.6 lbs) on his third to end the session. It was the final lift of the morning and capped the flight cleanly.
The results matched what played out on the platform in Lethbridge, Alberta. Scory on top overall, Braithwaite leading the women’s division, and multiple WRPF Canada records rewritten along the way.
