At the USAPL Hammer Forged Classic, Sean Devine led with 690 kg and Best Lifter, Hope Showers topped the women’s division with 185 kg and 447.5 kg, and Allan Miller totaled 497.5 kg with state bench records.
Allan Miller was one of the most notable performances of the day. Lifting in the -90 kg Master 3 division, he went three for three on squats, finishing at 170 kg. Each attempt moved without any major issues, and he carried that consistency through the rest of the meet. On bench, he hit 145 kg, which was later confirmed as a Pennsylvania state record in multiple Master divisions. He finished with a 497.5 kg total.
Sean Devine won the men’s -100 kg Open division with the top performance of the meet, totaling 690 kg (257.5 kg squat /145 kg bench press /287.5 kg deadlift) and posting a 430.47 DOTS score to secure Best Overall Male Lifter. At 97.0 kg bodyweight, he set the tone with his third squat at 257.5 kg. He carried momentum through the the meet to go nine for nine. On deadlift, 287.5 kg closed out the total and locked in the overall placing.
Hope Showers set the tone on the women’s division early in the day. In the +100 kg division, she worked up through squats to 185 kg, the heaviest squat of the meet. Her opener at 165 kg and second at 175 kg both moved well, putting her in position to take a bigger third. When 185 kg was loaded, it drew attention from the room, and she completed it successfully to close out the flight. Hope with a 447.5 kg total to secure first place in her division. Her squat performance ended up being the highest in the women’s division, and it held up as the top number through the rest of the competition.
These three performances defined the meet. Miller’s result stood out for its state-record bench, Devine delivered big lifts throughout the meet, while Showers’ squat series produced the biggest lift on the women’s side. These lifters put together complete days that separated them within their respective divisions. The meet ran smoothly from start to finish, with Hammer Forged Strength putting together a well-run event and a full day of lifting.
