The 2026 Mad Max Lifts Powerlifting meet brought powerlifters to Illinois for a full day of USPA sanctioned competition featuring both tested and untested divisions. From first-time competitors to experienced veterans, the meet produced impressive totals, multiple state records, and standout performances across every flight.
Corey Amans delivered the top performance of the meet, winning both the Men’s Raw Untested Open and Master (40–44) divisions. He finished with a 247.5 kg squat, 170 kg bench press, 285 kg deadlift, and a meet-best 702.5 kg total, giving him the highest total recorded across all divisions.
Abigail Nelson captured the Women’s Raw Tested Open title with a 160 kg squat, 95 kg bench press, 165.5 kg deadlift, and a 420.5 kg total. Her victory was made even more remarkable by the fact that she was competing just seven months after giving birth, making her final lift one of the most memorable moments of the day.
Marina Andersen also turned in an outstanding performance, winning the Women’s Raw Tested Master (50–54) division with a 110 kg squat, 70 kg bench press, 125 kg deadlift, and a 305 kg total. Along the way, she set multiple state squat records, earning one of the loudest ovations of the competition.
The Mad Max Lifts powerlifting meet showcased strong competition from start to finish, highlighted by record-setting lifts, inspiring individual performances, and the meet’s top overall total from Corey Amans. Organized by Mad Max Lifts under the United States Powerlifting Association (USPA), the event provided another competitive platform for powerlifters of all experience levels to test their strength.
