Powerlifting America’s Last Chance Texas Qualifier featured final opportunities to post qualifying totals, with Dante Deleon, Carlos Olivares, and Amanda Almodovar leading their divisions with winning performances.
Dante Deleon set the tone late in the meet and carried it through to the finish. Competing in the men’s raw 120 kg division, he finished with an 810 kg total (325 kg squat / 200 kg bench press / 285 kg deadlift). His third squat closed the session and rose smoothly as the final lift of the flight . From there, he continued with steady execution, completing his bench attempts with control and finishing the meet with a composed 285 kg deadlift. Each lift built directly into the next, producing a complete total that defined the division.
Carlos Olivares led the men’s raw 120+ kg division with a 730 kg total (272.5 kg squat / 182.5 kg bench press / 275 kg deadlift). His squat attempts opened with speed before settling at 270 kg for his best lift. On bench, he completed 180 kg with a steady press that stayed consistent from start to finish. Moving into deadlifts, he secured 275 kg to finalize his total and first-place finish.
Amanda Almodovar delivered a consistent performance in the women’s raw 76 kg division, finishing with a 432.5 kg total (167.5 kg squat / 95 kg bench press / 167.5 kg deadlift) and earning best female overall. Her bench press stood out, with her third attempt completed cleanly, maintaining her progression through the meet. She carried that same consistency into deadlifts, finishing with 172.5 kg. Across all three lifts, her attempts resulted in a complete and balanced performance.
Each of the division winners built their totals through precise execution. Deleon assembled his total with steady progression and a strong finish. Olivares combined consistent follow-through across the lifts. Almodovar stayed strong across all attempts, bringing together a complete total that earned overall honors.
As a Powerlifting America qualifying event, the meet provided athletes with a final opportunity to secure totals for advancement. Hosted by Elysian Strength, the competition brought together full divisions.
